Abhyanga massage
This form of massage includes a partial or, as a rule, full body massage with medicinal oils. Medicinal oils are elaborately produced preparations made from Ayurveda herbs cooked in oil, which are absorbed deep into the body and processed through the metabolism. They have a nourishing and/or analgesic function for body tissues. A combination of Abhyanga and Marma point massage is possible.
Breathing exercises
In my opinion, the most important discipline in yoga is the training of the breath. The detoxification of the body via the lungs is based on it. CO2 is expelled, fresh oxygen into the lungs and then taken up by the blood and the tissues supplied by the blood. Vitality and joie de vivre are the results of regular breathing practice. Furthermore, on a mental level, the lungs are the organ of grief.
Through breathing exercises, trapped emotions can be released and ‘released’, creating space for new feelings and a positive attitude towards life. Weight reduction is even possible with certain regularly practiced breathing techniques, so that people with a strong Kapha excess can particularly benefit from it.
Ayurveda
The word AYUR means life, the word VEDA means knowledge in Sanskrit, the Indian scholarly language. Ayurveda is the science of life. It is known to have existed for over 5000 years and is widely considered by many scientists and historians to be the oldest existing system of medicine and health care in the world. Ayurveda is recognised as a science by the World Health Organization (WHO).
Ayurvedic herbs and Rasayana
Ayurveda knows a variety of herbs and fruits, as well as strengthening and rejuvenating agents that are taken as dietary supplements. Whether in the form of powder (churna), pellets () or herbal drinks (Arishta & Āsava) produced by fermentation, there is a suitable form for every dosha imbalance.
Ayurvedic cleansing of the body
In Ayurveda, the purification of the body, mind and consciousness plays a major role. On all three levels it is important to separate and excrete what is stressful or undigested in the form of food, things seen, heard or felt. Metabolism waste products remaining in the body, which accumulate in the various tissues (Sapta Dhatu) and can lead to complaints, are excreted, for example, through Virechan (intestinal cleansing) and by taking dietary supplements. Unprocessed sensual impressions and feelings can be made conscious and processed through attentive observation and relaxation techniques of yoga.
Basti
In this form of treatment, heated oil is placed on the body in a ring made of dough. The type and quantity of the oil, as well as the respective part of the body, is tailored to the respective purpose. For example, placement can be on the back, neck, heart, or knee. The heated oil penetrates the tissue and can relieve pain or support the nutrition and function of the tissue in question.
Individual and group coaching Ayuryoga®
Individual and group coaching Ayuryoga® Ayuryoga uniquely combines the qualities of Hatha Yoga with the principles of Ayurveda. The yoga exercises tailored to the constitution type promote the fire element (Agni) of the body, thus stimulating digestion and metabolism, relaxing body and mind and bringing the dosha into balance. Ayuryoga® balances body, mind and consciousness through asana (postures), pranayama (breathing exercises) and short meditations. You can practice Ayuryoga® in a small group of up to eight people or book individual training tailored to your needs.
Individual nutritional advice
In my opinion, the most powerful tool for maintaining human health is nutrition. We are not talking about pure renunciation, but about optimally matching the food used to the corresponding constitutional type. You don’t have to learn Indian cooking to eat according to Ayurveda principles. The principles can also be applied to German cuisine or other European cuisines and are therefore universal. It also matters where and how we eat. In today’s stressful everyday life, it is particularly important to take these factors into account.
Individual lifestyle advice
Our constitution consists of a certain ratio of the so-called Dosha: Vata, Pitta, Kapha and their qualities. Vata, consisting of the elements space and air, stands for the principle of movement and is often associated with the term wind. Pitta, consisting of the elements fire and water, stands for the principle of transformation and is often associated with the body fluids blood and bile.
Kapha, consisting of the elements earth and water, stands for the principle of stability and is often associated with the body juice mucus. Our daily behaviour, our eating and sleeping habits, the seasons, where we live, our thoughts and much more play a role in our individual health balance. The purpose of this consultation is to raise awareness of these factors and to influence them accordingly.
Constitution analysis
Ayurveda assumes that we humans are born with a fixed constitution that is genetically determined by our parents and ancestors (prakruti). In the course of life, deviations from this constitution can arise (Vikruti) through diet, lifestyle, place of residence, etc. The stronger the deviation, the more prone we are to illnesses. This so-called paradigm of prakruti and vikruti needs to be analysed. Among other things, the analysis of the physiognomy, the tongue and the skin are used for this purpose.
Lepa
Lepa is a paste treatment that is applied externally to a specific area of the body. The effect of Lepa can be cleansing, Dosha calming or wound-healing.
It is classified according to the nature or the qualities of the herbs used or the effect and works, among other things, on swelling, congestion, inflammation and acne.
Marma point massage
This form of massage can be used both analytically and therapeutically and is comparable to Chinese acupuncture or acupressure in terms of technique. 117 Marma points of the body, which represent special crossing points of muscles, tendons and blood vessels, are activated by pressure with the help of certain essential oils. The sensitivity of each point can provide information about imbalances in the body and its tissues (Santa Dhatu). Stimulating specific points regulates the functions of the associated tissues. Marma point massage can be used to relieve pain and improve metabolism, circulation, nutrition and tissue rejuvenation.
Meditation
Calm, clear and align the mind, relax the muscles and bring awareness to the here and now. These are the benefits of regular meditation. Meditation can be done simply sitting on a chair. It is enough to get rid of all possible external disturbances for a certain time and to concentrate your attention. The types of meditation are varied. It can be a guided or silent meditation. Aids such as a lit candle or other object can focus the mind and calm the thoughts. The frequency of our brain waves changes and a deep relaxation occurs.
Prevention / Daily Routine
Ayurveda is primarily a science that focuses on prevention. Many people only become active when a manifest health problem occurs. It doesn’t have to be like this. So-called Dinacharya, a conscious, daily routine, an ideal daily routine that sets the body in rhythm, can prevent suffering.
Pulse analysis
The most important form of determining the innate (Prakruti) and current constitution (Vikruti) in Ayurveda is the pulse analysis. It is carried out on the wrist at different levels using different pressures.
Senior yoga
Do you think yoga is not for you because you associate it with an exotic sitting on the floor or acrobatic contortions or because you feel stiff and immobile? Yoga is a path of practice.
A path that is not based on competition or the rigid attainment of perfect poses. Yoga can also be practiced sitting on a chair and you only go as far as is good for you. In addition, yoga in a group can be a lot of fun and the practice leads to more mobility, even if you only practice it once a week.
Shirodhara
The forehead oil shower is a particularly up-to-date treatment in our hectic times, which are very demanding on nerves and intellect. Warm sesame oil is directed onto the forehead in a fine stream and flows off over the skull. The forehead effusion calms the vegetative nervous system and leads to deep relaxation.
Strengthening of bodily functions
Adequate nutrition, an adequate lifestyle and daily routine support bodily functions. Above all, digestion, which is particularly important for the harmonious balance of the dosha in relation to the constitution at birth and now. Oil applications in various forms, which can be found in my offer, also stimulate various bodily functions. In addition, breathing and yoga exercises that you can learn from me can have a supporting effect on the functions.
